About
I’m Rebecca Power, a creative director and game designer working where games, immersive theater, and emerging technology meet.
For 15 years, I’ve designed games, live events, and interactive experiences that bring people together. I’ve worked with startups, game studios, and arts institutions as a founder, director, and designer.
Today I’m the narrative director of Robotopia, a video game in which every character is driven by a language model. Before that, I was creative director and principal writer on Elsewhere, a co-op action roguelike built on Jungian dream theory.
I co-founded Hoax, an interactive studio built around The Racket, a neo-noir party game I invented. I’ve produced more than 400 events with it, for clients including Google, Adobe, and Twitch. My work has also taken me to an artist residency at SFMOMA, large-scale immersive theater like The Speakeasy, festivals including Come Out & Play and Take 3 Presents, and conceptual pieces such as an edible non-disclosure agreement.
I began my career in publishing’s digital transition, producing e-books and running online archives for authors including Chuck Palahniuk, Amy Tan, and Margaret Atwood, and for VICE, Esquire, and The New York Times. That grounding in graphic design and mixed media still shapes my work, much of which moves between digital and print.
In my spare time, I lecture on overlooked stories from history, play strategy board games, and keep a few prototypes in progress.
