Turn Your Life Into Art

Caveat Magister (Benjamin Wachs), Burning Man’s Philosopher Laureate, wrote Turn Your Life Into Art: Lessons in Psychomagic from the San Francisco Underground as both a history of the city’s underground art scene and a manual for making the kind of impossible, life-changing experiences it produced.

Caveat read passages from the book, then sat down with me for a conversation about the ideas in it and the work it describes. The evening closed with the audience taking part in one of my own recent pieces, so the room finished by doing the thing the book is about rather than only hearing about it.
